Juice Media Rewards + Update (Patreon)

I've been a bit quiet in January so I thought I'd drop in to let you know where I'm at. (This is a slightly longer post than usual, but I’ll try to make it worth your while getting to the end of it!)

Firstly, as you can see from the photo above, I've finally gotten round to organising some dope rewards for Patrons.

Yup we’re getting some Genuine Satire stickers; official Australien Government tee-shirts (the surprise reward for $50+ Patrons!); and at some stage I’m also hoping to introduce mugs (along with hugs!) for the $10 reward category. I don’t have a specific date for when I’ll be sending these out as I still need to work out the best distributor to get all these items out to you. But you've all been very patient, so I just wanted you to know we ARE close to finally having some nifty rewards for Patrons.

Next, and on a more personal note:

I am currently writing this post from Cape Town (South Africa). I came here with Lucy and our little Luca to see my mother - who sadly is vanishing from Alzheimer’s. 

It’s an emotional time, having come to the realisation that this will be my last goodbye between my dear mother and I. She will no longer recognise me the next time I see her. So I am making the most of every single day I am here; being with her, listening to what she is still capable of telling me; soaking up her smile; and giving her a chance to enjoy and play with her grandson, who she will never get to see grow up. 

(It’s hard for me to write this without tears in my eyes: Please, treasure the good moments you have with your parents)

As we are far from home, I hope you’ll understand why our January video will come out in February – once we're back in Australia. 

This does *not* mean your pledge for January will be wasted. As those who have been supporting us for a while will know: even if we don’t make a video every month, we'll still make at least 1 video per month on average over the course of the year, ie: a minimum of 12 videos per year (in 2017 we actually made 14!). This system allows me to be flexible in times such as these. 

So it won't be long till our next video.

I can't wait to get back to mercilessly trolling Governments and, with your support, taking this project to even greater heights in 2018.

When she was still well, Mum told me she was proud of the work I’m doing with the Juice Media. So I know she would be thankful to all of you for allowing me to continue this work, and to uphold the honourable tradition of exposing bullshit, today - a task to which I plan to dedicate myself wholly in the years to come.
