Sometime around the 10th I'll be making a major release that'll add a new character: Lisa the Leech. Her lower body is a leech, but up top, she's all woman. Black hair; pale skin; huge, natural boobs; and she lactates!

My artist is working on a new image of Olivia (the harpy girl), but I don't know if it'll make it into the game in time. Maybe it's bad to admit this, but Olivia is my favorite character (or at least top three), so I'm really looking forward to seeing her, and I hope you are too!

Now let's shift to what I'm currently working on: styled buttons.

Note: The next paragraph may bore you. Feel free to skip it.

If you had asked me before I started, I would've guessed it would take 2 days max to style the buttons. Never would've I anticipated working 10 days on it. How hard can it be? Well, it turns out pretty hard, especially if I want the buttons to be "responsive." "Responsive" means it should grow and shrink depending on the size of your device. Pulling that off required a deep dive into learning low-level intricacies of Scalable Vector Graphics (AKA, SVGs). Long story short, I learned so much, I can probably give a talk on the topic of scaling vector art. Hell, I could give an even longer talk on how not to do it, because I spent a lot of time hitting dead ends, starting back at the beginning, and coming up with alternative approaches.

These buttons look great in general, but there are some edge cases that need special attention. Specifically the buttons on the map, as they are color-coded in meaningful ways.

When I'm done with the buttons, I'll release it as a minor patch, meaning it'll be accessible to anybody who owns last months release even if you don't own this month's.

If I have any free time after writing the leech girl scene, I'll work on more UI improvements.

Hope you're all doing great! Reach out at any time.
