This is an interesting twist to the book’s plot. Technically he should be a soul mate to both, but he is ‘choosing’ Tai? If that’s the case he will reinforce what Phat said, you chose to love someone beyond the original attraction. Maybe that’s what happened to the parents too. More than one soul mate.

It could be. Or viceversa. There is a 3rd soulmate that affected the father’s decision to leave. Because the mother acted as if a big secret was being kept to ‘protect them’ and she wasn’t affected. If you are forcing a soul mate to leave to be with the other you should be affected, she wasn’t. 🤔
