I honestly don't know how to feel about Yutaka's brother anymore, I'm starting to think maybe he wasn't that bad after all. It seems that Yutaka has repressed memories from childhood...

Vita

I think there is a level of cruelty that his brother enacted when he first join the family that was enough for Yutaka to clamb up. But his brother memories match their parents story plus his own flash backs. I think the brother was jealous in the beginning and then when he settled couldn’t reach emotionally Yukata anymore.

I agree, I think by the time he came around (as teen) it was too late the damage to Yukata(I know) was already done.

Pure love everywhere on my screen 💕 I could just pass away from too much emotion

Yeah I still don't know what to feel about the section with Yutaka's family. I still kinda feel like they're gaslighting us into thinking that Yutaka's trauma was invalid. 👀😬

TitaJosie

It's a tough situation all around. Yutaka was so traumatized that he never recovered until the time he met Minoru and Tane. 💔

Vita

Yes, it is. I wish the parents could have taken some action while they were still young to lessen both children trauma.

I have 4 sisters and 1 stepsister. My 2 of my sisters (twins) and I are only 2 years apart. Our 2 youngest sisters at at least 12 years younger than we are. Me and the twins were all raised in the same house by the same mother until I was 18 and they were 16. When we discuss some common childhood memories, We sometimes have different perspectives on some of the same shared memories. I'm sure it has to do with our differing personalities, and our differing developmental years. I say that to say, I totally can believe that the trauma Yukata felt was real but also can say that the perspective memories of brother could totally see the situation differently, especially in the cases of emotional trauma. Ok...enough of my psycho babble...lol. I really liked this episode...and as an older sibling, I did want to hope the brother wasn't truly an "evil" child towards Yukata. So I was glad to see the brother may not have been all bad. Also, I love a supportive parent. MInoru's dad is awesome

Yutaka being quiet as he is and maybe there’s also factors before him being adopted coupled with the words said by his brother initially made him closed off. His feelings were valid and his brother at a certain point I feel has valid feelings as well. I think what went wrong was how the parents handled this adoption and transition period. And by the time that the brother was okay. Yutaka is already broken. I think what would have made the scene with the family a lil bit better was Yutaka pouring out all his emotions during that convo, with the brothers talking nonchalantly. I get why you feel like being gaslighted. If it were heavy, the family would have known the burden Yutaka is carrying all the time and that would lead to a better conclusion and reconciliation I believe.

TitaJosie

Yes, agreed. Siblings all experience their parents differently. Let's hope this new perspective helps Yukata heal from the trauma he felt when he was first adopted. 💖

TitaJosie

Yeah, that's the part that was missing for me. I really wish Yutaka had the chance to express to his family his perception of what happened to him when he was newly adopted. 💔
