I actually thought the conversation between Simon and Marcus was a little....manipulative on Marcus's part. Or at the very least condescending. I don't know. I don't think Simon was ever actually looking to get into a relationship with Marcus. I think his idea of a rebound was just sex, but Marcus clearly does want a relationship which Simon is obviously not feeling. I didn't like how Simon tried to tell him that he wasn't ready and instead of just asking what specifically Simon wanted between them (if anything), he brought up Simon's dad and how Simon probably doesn't know what a healthy relationship looks like and he's sure he wouldn't want to ruin something this beautiful, which....they've only hung out a couple of times and apparently he's been telling Simon's friends that Simon never responds to his messages so I'm not sure how that's indicative of something beautiful, but....it just rubbed me the wrong way. Also Marcus said they could take things slow, but then the next day kissed Simon in front of his peers at school. I didn't have any problems with him until this episode - he seemed fine, but it was made very apparent that Simon didn't want this to be an actual relationship and is 100% not ready for it and now he's basically in one to everyone around him.
