I was surprised the route they went with the mom's character. I think her redemption is the fact that she let him go because she saw the interaction between him and Gorya. I think it was not a full on redemption but it was a step forward to truly realize of how much she destroyed her family. I think in her twisted way, she did love her family, but didn't realize how much she relayed more on wealth than family. It could of been the gap of generations too. The whole scene between Gorya, Thyme and his mom was best scene because it was intense, I had no idea where this drama was going. Anyway, the overall show was the best adaption of this story I have ever watched. It was actually better than the Japanese version. The Korean version was what brought me into the Asian Drama fandom in the first place, even though it was a hot, addictive mess (toxic now though). It was the journey about Thyme's redemption and Gorya journey was about loving herself and self worth through difficult times.

I have to agree that I don't feel that Thyme's mom was fully redeemed, but more that her redemption was starting. I haven't seen any other version, though I did start the Korean version and didn't complete it. 🥰💖
