It’s so weird to me that a cake smashed in one’s face only elicits a quizzical look and formal apology several minutes later. That Koreans are writing this as if it were expected behaviour is saying a lot about how severe the more conservative elements of society are there! Namgoong is being presented as the only easygoing, more westernized member of the group! It’s rather fun to deal with the contrasts!
