Even at Speed (1), is he supposed to have a random super burst of speed? I downloaded the MAC version, and it seems to that sometimes the options are unresponsive and I have to double click them to work

No it's okay! I can see it's intentional, but it's more like it speeds up from a lag and it goes super fast out of no where. A better example would be like, if he's moving at 25% speed at "Speed (1)", and then he suddenly goes 120%
