Tips to Avoid the new iOS 30% fee starting from Nov 2024! (Patreon)

Hey guys, hope all of you are doing well.

This is a public message mainly aimed for potential new members who consider subscribing tiers or current paid members who are considering upgrade their tires. Also if you are considering cancel subscription and re-joining someday, this message is also for you. Non-Apple user or computer user for Patreon , you may ignore this message:) 

Recently, Patreon has announced starting from Nov 2024, anyone who intend to join Patreon or current Patron who wants to upgrade their tier via iOS APP WILL BE CHARGED A 30% EXTRA FEE, which surely is not a cheerful news to all of us.

Fortunately, this extra fee will only apply to new memberships purchased via Patreon iOS app starting November 4th, 2024. In other words, the existing subscriptions on Patreon won't be affected by this change at all!! 👍🏻

So if you have already subscribed to any tiers before November 4th 2024 , don't worry you are all good as your monthly subscription rate is already fixed.

*THIS NEW POLICY ONLY APPLIES TO PATRONS WHO USE AN IPHONE OR IPAD TO PURCHASE TIERS!!*

Please be noted that Apple decided to add a 30% fee on any and all purchases you make on Patreon via their iOS app meanwhile Patreon doesn't get any of this 30% fee, and no creators can get any of this 30% fee either. No one is benefited from this new policy except Apple.

SO, HOW TO AVOID THIS EXTRA FEE?

If you are a current patron and decide to upgrade your tier to a higher tier (or free member upgrading to paid member), you should use a web browser on any computer or android device to pay.

If you unsubscribe and resubscribe, this fee will appear on the iOS Patreon app. Therefore, you can go to the Patreon website on a regular computer and pay there.

CAN I STILL USE THE PATREON iOS APP FOR TO ENJOY THE REWARDS?
SURE YOU CAN! All patrons can still like posts and comment on the post via the iOS app. Just make sure you don't pay for anything via the iOS app.
