The best explanation of time Speeding up as we get older was that, as we get older, every year does actually become smaller as a proportion of your life. When you’re 10 years old, a year represents a 10th of your life, when your 40 years old, a year is a 40th of it. That’s why objectively, time speeds up for each human as they get older.

Partially through the episode. The first topic on time and our interpretation of it was some excellent theorising. Food for thought

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “The Hour will not begin until time passes quickly, so a year will be like a month, and a month will be like a week, and a week will be like a day, and a day will be like an hour, and an hour will be like the burning of a braid of palm leaves.”

Enjoyed the episode. I have given some thought to your points about ancient polymaths of antiquity, and 'wisdom' in general. I was a physics grad and entirely agree that we've lost our way with the uninhibited creativity and openness that appears to have existed in the now distant past (despite it being a far more dangerous period to have practiced free thought). We celebrate Newton for his contributions to classical mechanics, and yet have erased the other side of him that was a far more dedicated (and apparently, a masterful) alchemist. After the renaissance in modern physics in the late 19th century, it's weaponisation in WW2 and hoarding of knowledge across the world during the cold war and aftermath, the establishment (and supporting media) that has grown around the scientific community has exorcised much of what is now perceived to be fantastical (e.g. UFOs/UAPs). Even Michiu Kaku is now being ostracized for his views on that. Our Philosophy in/of Science has lost its way.
