In response to some of the excellent points you made on western culture and Africa. I don’t see a positive outcome coming from the recent popularisation of the Afro beat genre. As someone of Jamaican heritage I have seen first hand the music industry can have on a community and in particular the youth. Many of these popular African artists are collaborating with artists such as Skillibeng and Skeng etc who you will struggle to find a lyric that isn’t about killing another black person. If this kind of influence was to take hold in Africa it could be a major factor in where the musical culture in Africa ends up in the future
