Spoiler: (Don't know how far you've got in the series. But..) Another character you forgot to mention is 'Suzie' who is also portrayed as a very intelligent female character. She communicates with Dustin by mistakenly connecting together via 'Walkie-talkies' on the same radio-wave frequency, used to intercept the Soviets. From there, they develop a 'long-distance relationship' where they sing to each other over the walkie-talkies. Suzie becomes the saviour of the show by being the only person who correctly remembers the super secretive code that allows access to the two highly protected keys, that can stop the gate (upside down) from re-opening. This enables Joyce Byers (Will's mom) and Hopper (the chief), to get the secret briefcase (with the keys) from the safe in the underground, Soviet, Starcourt mall base. Just to let you know Dustin has a real life condition ' cleidocranial dysplasia' that causes his missing teeth etc. Nonetheless, great dissection of the show.
