Awwww I have been listening to "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield this week on my way to work bc it is such an affirming, positive song Your little graphic for this podcast is so good, Will!! Did you design it in Canva??? OMG that Spice Girls song immediately reminds me of 13 year olds getting their braces locked together while making out. I could expound on this but I don't think I need to :| Ok, only bc you asked, I don't like Linkin Park because I was in my late teens when they were really popular in the late 90's. I looooooooved early 90s alt rock (Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Hole, Elastica, Blur, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alanis etc.) and felt like once we got to the late 90s/ early 00's, that microera was timing out (things really did change after Kurt Cobain died) and being replaced on the radio and the scene by the likes of rapcore bands like Linkin Park, Korn, and Limp Bizkit and other bands that just didn't have that same crunchy, flannel-y vibe. Like, tbh I liked Backstreet Boys and straight up bubblegum pop more than Linkin Park at the time (and to this day) even though Spice Girls are pretty much the sonic opposite of, say, Hole. I think this all comes down to being young at a super specific moment and preferencing the sounds of that moment over what came right after it, though; one probably isn't "better" than the other or anything. I looooooooooove that Sarah McLachlan song Listening to you listen to Nsync Pop for the first time is giving me life, Will XD The fact that old millennials were fed THAT and Nirvana within a fairly brief timespan should explain why we're so fucked up *listening to Rolling Stones* no one: absolutely no one: Will: This song sounds like the Flintstones You're gonna need to unpack that one for me, Willis :| Wiiiiiiilllllllllllllll I remember driving around with a fresh license and listening to that Incubus song!!! How did you know???? 8/10 is a solid rating for that tune I was just thinking the other day how much I missed these types of music pods from you, so thank you for reading my mind :) I'm just doing deskwork today, and you made the morning go by so smoothly.

I love your insight Emily. You're so right about missing the "waves" in music. Our tastes are mostly a product of when and how were raised (what our parents listened too)

Last time I visited my parents I found a picture of myself at 10? Maybe 11? In penguin print pants and a Linkin park shirt. I'm pretty sure I had that shirt well into my 20s and I wish I had kept it.
