Lucius Ascia (Patreon)

Lucius is a young soldier of the Holy Church of Nox. Pressured into service of the church by family, he ends up part of unit of inquisitors because of his natural abilities. He begrudgingly follows orders but is distrustful of the Church, too warm-hearted for the work he does.

Lucius is a rarity, a mortal who is blessed with two Asterisks, the unique powers all mortals on Astra Grandis are born with, though he keeps the second one a secret. His first Asterisk, Misery Loves Company, enables him to track down anything he's able to learn three facts about. His second Asterisk, Non Ducor Duco, is the ability to identify any lie someone speaks.

He fights with a chained flail that doubles as a thurible in combination with his fire-aspected magic to buff, debuff and heal by burning different combinations of incense and herbs to change the properties of the smoke.

Though Lucius's magic affinity leans toward fire, he specializes in healing magic regardless, which comes to him naturally perhaps because he's a kind soul in spite of his circumstances.
