Dillon is a Leval, a leonine-like people who can shift between their beast forms and smaller, humanlike forms. When he was young, he like a lot of his people, were scattered as refugees because of a civil war in his home country of Argaus.

Separated from his family in the confusion, Dillon eventually met a Labrynthian woman named Elysia, bonding over their similar circumstances. They grew to love each other, Dillon proclaiming himself "Lady Elysia's Knight."

Dillon has an infatuation with technology, especially Labrynthian technology, and under Elysia's tutelage has grown into a gifted mechanic and tinkerer.

Dillon's innate magic is a unique variant of Fire Elemental magic called Explosion Magic, able to produce superheated explosions on contact, as well as rendering him effectively fireproof himself. He finds mundane use in it by using it to weld metal with his fingers.

In combat, Dillon prefers to engage at distance with his rifle, the Seven of Cups, only shifting into his leonine form if forced to fight in melee.
