You know, looking at the "human" element of the individuals interacting, they seem fine. Most seem to be innocent enough with good enough goals. A tad bit racist, but hey, that's life. It's just something about the way icon seems to act in a broader sense that makes me suspect they are the real villains here—exploiting and militarizing the youths they want for their military, shadow governing the entirety of earth without uplifting it. Even the way they call a species reapers! Was that their name for themselves or just a title given after they no longer gave in to ICON's ways. It seems like something thrust onto them. I dunno could be less complicated of a story where the morals are really just that black and white, and the whole point is "they bad we good because" with a healthy smattering of fan service. Maybe I am looking at cupcakes and trying to think of it like a four-course meal. Nothing wrong with that black and white with fanservice kind of meal. No one ever complains about cup cakes. But maybe there is something else
