With this eco-boudoir photoshoot in Bali, I wanted to shed light on the island's trash problem. Unfortunately, the Balinese beaches have a serious case of "Instagram vs Reality", which should get more attention. Let's make a difference, one frame at a time.

1st image: removed the bikini bottom in Photoshop to create the image I had originally intended (and so that the model wouldn't have to pose completely nude, considering the Indonesian restrictions)

2nd image: photo prior to Photoshop

3rd image: the artwork which inspired me for this shot

Model: https://www.instagram.com/trnv_ani

Location: Pantai Nyanyi, Bali

Did you lower the saturation on the sand and back wall? The subject and the trash really pops out 9 out of 10

Hi Simon, I indeed lowered the saturation a little bit on the back wall, but mostly what I did was select the subject and make the temperature warmer, and on the opposite selection (everything but the model) make the temperature colder. This often leads to a nice contrast without having to desaturate the surroundings much. I learned this trick from the great photographer Dan Hecho
