dev diary: many things in progress (Patreon)

the first and most exciting update: I ORDERED THE ANOTHER PIECE OF CANDY BOOKS!!!!!!!! the proof copy will be here in a week or so, and then i can set up a little online store... i'll have 50 to sell (for the first run at least!) and volume 1 includes the first 122 strips (excluding guest comics). it filled up 36 pages, which feels like a lot but also not that many...? i think it's a good size for a first book, so i'm really looking forward to seeing it in person :)

i'm gonna try making gumdrop charms as a little patron bonus... planning on making them free with the book, but i might make more later too. i don't want to go overboard on merch stuff, but i'm excited i finally have the time to do things like this. even if it's on a limited basis, it's nice to offer a physical thing... makes me feel very legit lol.

the second update: i still need to do the video for the song i made with jaelights! i was planning on doing a bit of animation for it, which is why it got delayed--i accidentally made it too daunting to start on... but i'm planning to finish it before the end of the month at least. i'll share either the song or the animation for next week's sneak peek~

the third update: underling plush campaign was a success!! it's fully funded, so everyone will get their little guys. makeship said they're going to extend the campaign on thursday, so everyone will have until the end of the month to order them :) i'm really happy cuz this means i can do maiden and overlord next!!!!

actually some people thought that underling isn't popular enough to be the first plush, and that they wanted maiden instead... so i guess it's good that i planned on having her next. i assume they'll want to wait to start the next campaign until after the underlings ship, so that'll be october/november! heck yeah!!!

misc updates

i had fun answering a ton of questions on cohost last week! unfortunately someone kept making burner accounts in order to send me nasty messages... it made checking my inbox too stressful, so i decided to shut it off. i got way more asks than expected, and it started taking up a lot of my time anyway, so maybe it's for the best to only have them open every now and then.

despite the stressful parts, i got to draw a ton of stuff and even did some animations!! you'll get to see them again in the monthly art post, hehe. taking a break from active gamedev ended up REALLY putting me in the mood to draw, which is great, because i feel like most of the time i'm only drawing in "production mode" yknow?? so i'm glad i got to have that little burst of energy (though it's mostly subsided now...)

anyway, i felt a little guilty for not having made much progress on games in a while, so i started getting things in order to write the next "chapter" of sex advice succubus. i was thinking i should start on it soon so that i can send it out for translations and release it publicly later this year. i barely started on this, but once i get a lot of my merch stuff out of the way, i'll likely end up writing it in a weekend... i've had the plot for it very clear in my head ever since the initial release of the game, so i want to make it real soon...!

that's all the news i've got!! there's been a lot going on... i even got to spend a bunch of time playing video games, so i'm feeling extra rested and inspired now...!
