Orga and Mekai - 1

This month I decided to revisit an older artwork that has been begging for some animation. The static original was actually the very first piece of content I made to kick off my Patreon campaign nearly one year ago. It's still one of my favorites and I am excited to bring it to life with motion. Check out the Orga and Mekai series if you missed it.

First, I completely reworked the colors. As a whole I still like the colors of the original series, which come from my Planemo 8 palette. However, for this stand alone artwork I felt it could use some vibrancy so I reworked it with the Mondo palette.

Having the composition already complete smoothed out the process and allowed me to spend more time on animation details. Since Pixelmotion is about animation studies I figure it's the perfect opportunity to revisit old artworks and give them the animation treatment. Of course, I will continue making original scenes from scratch for Pixelmotion, but also some of my existing scenes are begging for motion. Got any favorites you would like to see come to life?
