Hey everyone.

Patreon now has a new billing option for NEW Subscribers.

You can read more about it here:
https://blog.patreon.com/introducing-a-new-patron-billing-option

What’s new about Patreon’s billing system

If  you become a NEW member of my Patreon page, you will get charged on the  date that you signup, instead of on the first day of each month.

e.g. a new patron who joins on September 12 will be charged that day, and again on October 12, November 12, and so on.

This new  billing option is long overdue and will make it much  easier for our new Patreons to choose which date of the month that they’d  prefer to be charged. It will also stop “double billing” when you first  signup: where you could signup on the 25th of the month, be charged,  and then charged again when the new month begins a few days later.

How are existing members affected?

They  aren’t. This new billing system only applies to new signups. If you are  an existing member then you will still get charged on the first day of  each month.

Where can I see what date I am charged each month?

My Patrons can see the next charge date for all their memberships in their Active Memberships section (under “Settings”).

What happens if my billing date falls on a day that doesn’t occur each month like the 31st?

Your  bill will renew on the last available date of the next month, and that  date will be the monthly billing date going forward. Someone who joins  on 30 January will renew on 28 February and then on the 28th of each  month after that. Patrons can view their next charge date in their  Active Memberships tab at any time. This renewal date is also displayed  for creators in Relationship Manager under ‘Next Charge Date’.

What happens if a patron upgrades or downgrades their subscription?

Upgrading  or downgrading will not change a patron’s billing date. As happens  today, patrons who upgrade get charged the outstanding amount straight  away and get access to the higher tier straight away for the remainder  of their billing period. Downgrades will remain on the original tier  until the next billing date.

All the Best,
PM & Team
