Hey everyone,

We made it through the flood! 💪💪💪

in the Video you can see the highest level of the Water (around 50cm) we had on the street. I was lucky that my brother brought a 400Volt Pump (holy cow that shit works great!) otherwise we would have had water in the house. Our house is really old and not elevated (you probably see the difference to the neighbour's house) but therefore we also don´t have a cellar. Which was a big advantage in that case! And my 2 brothers and their sons helped us elevate all the furniture on the ground level. Either on boxes/tables or moving it to the 1st floor.

We got away with a black eye and only have minor damage. The estimation is about 6000-8000€, but that´s actually a very low price for flood damage. Especially compared to other people who have lost everything and can´t go back to their homes. For people who may have experienced a flood themselves, they will know that the damage costs can easily go up way more. Unfortunately, the insurance does not cover flood damage, but I don´t have to repair everything immediately and can do it step by step.

Since we have a really old house, and we renovated the outside last year, the water was not going inside the wall. That, not having a cellar and the pump from my brother, saved our asses. I was also constantly up, fixing the barriers, checking the pumps, helping neighbours etc. So all in all I had 4h of sleep the 2 days when it was critical. Last night I could sleep more and when I got up I felt like 100 years old 😵‍💫😋

Today I spent the whole day cleaning up most of the mess and documenting the damage.

But yeah, wanted to report that we made it through! Thanks for your prayers, uplifting messages and moral support 🥰🥰🥰

I will go sleep now and finish cleaning up stuff tomorrow, see if there is more damage and will try to recover a bit.

All the very best,
Puppetmaster

Flood 2024

Flood from 15-17th of September 2024. Now everything is back to normal. But that was a "Flood of the Century" as they call it. Will not be the last I am afraid. But we will create proper quick-fix barriers for next time.

Woah! That's crazy! I had flooding in my basement from heavy rains. So, I kind of know what you're going through. But, that's definitely worse. Glad you all are alright! Hope the house dries out and you don't get any mold issues.

The older one (Daugther) was helping like a Soldier. And the little one was just happily excited "Wata, Wata! 🥳😀😀😀" He loves water 😋
