"Might I talk to your queen, then?” you ask.  

The fairy on your shoulder takes flight, repositioning on the sunny boulder. 

“You already are,” comes a soft, melodic voice behind you. 

You feel a hand rest on your shoulder and see slender, peach-toned fingers in your peripheral vision, each fingernail sparkling with a rainbow of gemstones.  You turn around. Before you stands a silver-haired fairy the same height as you--a few centimeters taller, even--with three sets of white, pink, and blue-tinted translucent gossamer wings that sparkle and shimmer in the sunlight. Her hair is long, straight and icy silver, though at times each strand seems to take on a slightly different hue as the light glances off it from different angles. Like you, she wears a crown of wildflowers, though hers is woven around a headband made of fine silver. A majestic, thin-fabric strapless golden-yellow dress wraps loosely around her narrow waist and broad hips all the way down her soft thighs and slender ankles. She smiles at you mirthfully with her rose-blossom-red lips and intense pink eyes. She cocks an eyebrow and caresses your cheek, examining you as though searching for any new scratches, scars, or wrinkles on your familiar face.  

Another faint memory flickers through your mind. You are on that nearby boulder laying on your back, but the boulder is like a mountain and the pond like a lake. The queen is on her hands and knees above you, laughing and feeding you a raspberry berry that appears to you as large as a melon, the sun and clouds scattering through her gossamer wings and sending them divinely aglow.  You begin to bow respectfully, but just as you start the motion, the queen bursts out into a laughter. 

“We can skip that,” she laughs, raising you back up by your chin. “I suppose it’s time for our ‘first’ introduction. I am Síthmaith, queen of this humble grove, or so my sisters insist. Welcome.”
