Definitely not the best idea to let a teenager who is clearly in a very bad place mentally drive a race car... It's been the case since the very start of the show, but Nathan seriously needs Therapy. Like, he has never been in just a totally good place. Sure, he's been happy with Haley and all that. But that doesn't erase the years of abuse that Dan put him through...

So the actress who plays Haley, (she goes by Joy) while talking about these episodes she said it was the asshole show runner seeing if the fans would be for replacing Haley or if we would fight to have her back on the show lol so we will have to see what happens going forward no spoilers, but that’s why it is a little confusing lol
