This is one of my favorite episodes too. You also get to really see Simon in his element as a doctor and what all he gave up to save his sister.

Yeah, this episode shows you just how much his crew means to Mal. He sees them as an extension of himself. As you mentioned, we see how smart he is too. Definitely a really good episode. I mean, I love me a good heist! If something goes wrong with the heist, even better! Both checked off here 😁😁😁
