Such a great episode! I don't care what anyone else says, season 5 is the best season to me. 🔥 I love how they incorporated the older people into this episode, Maggie was adorable. And her singing Memory with Kurt makes me emotional every time. The music really was fantastic again. I'm so glad you said you liked Rachel and Sam singing together, they do match very well. I love how much of Sam singing we get in this episode overall. I didn't like the way Mercedes talked to Sam about the dog. I've said it before and I'll say it again, they're not compatible. But this is just my opinion of course. And at least the dog got a good home. Also I noticed that once again Rachel let her ego cloud her judgement lol but she made things right in the end as she always does. Whereas Santana was very rude to Kurt, never apologized and didn't show up for his retirement home performance. All I'm saying. 😂 I look forward to the season finale, it's a good one. At least I think so. 😊

i think i liked the idea of Sam and Mercedes when we got that sneek peak of them 2 holding hands at the end of s2, but everything that came after that, i was just not into.. most of their relationship was Sam chasing after her, and now that they're together, it's just Sam being childish but also restricting himself bc of Mercedes.. i think they're never on the same speed, not on the same love life journey and disagreeing on a lot of things.. there you can clearly see that Mercedes is kind of treating him like someone she has to take care of. and Sam is liking the idea of having Mercedes as his gf bc he likes her, but it's just him having to rethink everything bc she says no. (she was def right for the dog bc the man can't even take care of himself). he's very much a teen having his college experience and she's looking for her first real and serious relationship while being a star.. and tbh, she was having those dreams since s1. i guess ultimately she fell for him bc he was also selling her the big star dream (like in the Whitney Houston ep, just like her previous bf Shane was) but now he's just there. i don't see how this could work. Mercedes deserves a real man that knows what he wants, bc she's a woman with big dreams. and i'm not saying Sam is in the wrong for not being there yet, but he's clearly not right for her. at least right now. they're not on the same speed when it comes to love life, future or even career aspirations.. also just the idea of Mercedes not feeling ready to have sex with Sam but okay with living with him and mothering him? that should just tell you why she should break up with him. if you're living with a significant other, it's bc you're comfortable with them. now i'm not saying she should have sex with him, she does whatever she wants. but it's just one more thing she's controlling in the relationship. this situation looks more like "i let my friend that kind of doesn't have a job and appartment, live with me" than a couple living together.. i know she wants to wait before she's ready, but they're acting like an old married couple already and it's been what, a month? two? idk.. she deserves better. and he deserves to be alone for once and figure out who he is, in peace. basically, Sam deserves to exist in a world where he can mess up, learn and grow and not where his gf has to say no to all of his wants and need. and Mercedes deserves a bf that doesn't have to make her say no to everything bc she has to educate him and bc he's a manchild lol. (also i'm not here for the chemistry... sorry)

Chris Colfer writing an episode where his costars get to play with cute dogs and sing cute songs all day and he is stuck with old people singing peter pan. that man is weird lol. i would have written myself with the dogs ALL DAY LONG!!! hahaha. as a costar, i would have loved him so much! more dogs!! also i think it's funny how Kurt is seen in such a great light in this episode, and how Santana and Rachel are not, and Blaine is just there. i see what you did there mister Colfer. getting back his flowers.

I do love this episode, although like you said it does have it's flaws for sure. I love that Chris Colfer just wrote in dogs and elderly people. My kind of episode. I LOVE animals and I work with elderly people for my job, going from house to house to care for them. There is nothing better than giving them a little company and helping them through their day - they also have the best stories to tell. This one did get me emotional the first time I watched it. It was nice seeing Kurt getting some limelight again and everyone else was pushed back a bit. Well done Chris Colfer.
