This was...hard to rewatch

Liv Heskett

This is not a good episode by any means. But it is fun and I laugh everytime.

Capri Zonica

If it wasn't for Santana.....I swear 🙄

Kammy

Oh goodie, I was hoping we could hurry and get this one out the way! Lol

Erin

Unpopular opinion: I love this episode solely for the NY storyline. Santana: who wants to sit on my lap? Me: I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!

Jade Coulthurst

absolutely crazy episode again. IMO, yes, they make you laugh but this one and the last are the weakest of the whole show, but still entertaining. Just to think, I partly paid for you to watch this madness! hahaha. Makes me laugh. Next few episodes are great!

Erin

Also this episode takes place a year prior when Santana was still in Louisville. It’s right after everyone broke up in season 4. 😂

Angelina Sargent

So as Jane lynch explained in the beginning this was supposed to be the season 4 Xmas episode. That is why there was some confusion with the timeline of santana not living there. Which is good because that means Kurt didn't cheat on his fiance Blaine with dirty Santa. Hahahaha

Erin

I think this episode was a little bit of a fuck it (as you said, season 5, the fuck it season) to the network. The showrunners were told they had to have a Christmas episode for itunes sales and because they are stretching out this school year in a weird way, it's not Christmas so they put this together. It's grown on me since it aired. I love this little unhinged set of episodes here.

Gracie

I honestly love this episode. Between Santana as Mrs. Clause and Unique singing Love Child, I was laughing the whole time.

Gracie

But this episode definitely does give acting challenge on drag race

Leticia Schmitt

Does anybody know if it's true Jane Lynch's speech on the beginning of the ep? It doesn't make a lot of sense... Sam's hair was way shorter in season 4 and Santana wasn't in New York. I know "she came to visit" but at that point on season 4 she was really away and wasn't that close with Kurt and Rachel... Also, where is Finn? It doesn't seem pre-recorded to me. Idk

Natalie Davis

I honestly loved this episode lol...so hilarious!

Siobhan Linehan

Sue's speech is 100% real. I was part of the fan campaign to get this episode aired after they cut it during season 4.

scarr

No, Sue's speech was just a little gimmick they did to explain why they were doing a Xmas episode when in the show's timeline it would've been late spring - nearing graduation. I don't know if they just wanted to squeeze in another Xmas episode or if they were told they had to as someone said above, but they definitely didn't pre-record this one. I think it's clear not a ton of thought went into it 🥴

scarr

Even though I like season 5 as a whole better than season 4, this episode is just a whole lot of cringe for me, and probably my least favorite episode of the whole series. I try to forget it happened - not because it offends me at all, it's just TOO unhinged 😵‍💫

scarr

I guess maybe I'm wrong then! I've seen this debated a lot and thought the determination was that it wasn't real - but if there was a fan campaign then I guess it was! Still pretty set on it not being pre-recorded though...as you pointed out, that is definitely season 5 Sam hair 🤣

Tiffany Tews

The way it should have stayed "unaired"

Annie Willow

Santana Clause is the only reason I rewatch this episode - a lot.

PhoebeG

No this was 100% filmed during S5. Sam has his long hair, Santana was in NY because Naya would have been filming most of her scenes on that set, Brittany isn't in it because Heather had her kid, Finn is absent because Cory died etc. They just wanted to release another Christmas album and because of them making the S4 school year long it would not have been possible to not be an alternate timeline. There may have been another version of the S4 Christmas episode script that fans campaigned for, but this final product was not it.

Siobhan Linehan

This is maybe my favourite reaction you've done, I was crying laughing. You looked so uncomfortable lmao. I love this epsode, I see some people in the comments hate it and I get why but I rewatch it every Christmas simply because it cracks me up. It's so controversial but that's Glee for you. Seasons 5 and 6 really are the fuck it seasons. There are some more "normal" episodes scattered along the way but overall it's just nuts. These last two episodes you've watched aren't the craziest you're going to see. So yeah, you might have to start drinking during these reactions ngl. 😂😂😂😂

Siobhan Linehan

I just Googled it to remind myself because I'm sure I remember the fan campaign. And basically this episode was written and sent into Fox who vetoed it immediately. This was leaked somehow and that started the fan campaign to get the episode made. And so Fox agreed for it to be made with a few edits and they filmed it during season 5 while keeping the script from season 4. That's why it all seems a bit out of place.

Natasha Medina

I’m not a huge fan of the episode in general but ‘Mary’s boy child’ and ‘Love Child’ are two *amazing* performances. Unique steals the show with ‘Love Child’; I cry laughing every time and Kitty’s faces are priceless. Plus I love how open and fun Marley is in this episode, she just looks like she’s having a blast. The rest of the episode is just meh but I’ll still watch it every time! Thanks for a great reaction!

Norma Serrano Ibarra

bahahahahahahah, i seriously dont like this episode i mean its funny but i can skip, but you just made it 10 times funnier hahahaha i could not with your second hand embarrassment : )

Kammy

They really sat down after “what does the fox say?” and said “how do we make people even more uncomfortable?” 😂

Jennifer Sauer

As soon as I saw the title, I waited impatiently the whole damn episode for your reaction to Becky the baby Jesus head. And it was worth it lmao
