This is one of my favorite episodes ever, and definitely my favorite of the Christmas episodes. I watch this one every single year on Christmas Eve. RIP the legendary Michael Gambon, who only passed a few weeks ago. The girl is played by Katherine Jenkins. She's the biggest selling classical artist of the century (globally), and believe it or not but this was actually her first acting role, and she absolutely nailed it!!!

This is my favourite Christmas special too. Out of all of them it feels the most "Christmassy" to me if you know what I mean. It's not just a regular who story that's set during Christmas, its a Christmas story that happens to be told by Doctor Who.
