I have to agree, Rachel's rendition of Don't Stop Believin is something I keep close to my heart. It's definitely one of her best performances in my opinion.

Gracie

Yeah the season 4 original songs don’t really hit the same. I liked when they embraced how cheesy they were instead of pretending that Marley is the next Bob Dylan.

Its bittersweet that Corys last song was Don't Stop. brings me to tears every time.

EmmWork

Is it just me or does the more friends you know song give “Send it On” Disney channel vibes ? 🤣

"Mind your own gay business gay Blaine" is honestly top 3 lines of the entire show for me and I don't even know why. Simple yet so effective

While Rachel’s Don’t Stop was great and sentimental for us, I feel like it wasn’t the best song choice for a Broadway audition. If I were the casting director of Funny Girl (which I know I am definitely not) I wouldn’t see how her singing an 80s classics would show what she could bring to the role of Fanny Brice who was a comedian, film and radio actress, and singer from the 30s-50s.

As we know … there’s lots in this show that can’t and shouldn’t be explained because it’s not logical lol

Annie Willow

Oh I definitely agree!!!! We have to suspend reality even though it’s hard sometimes. 🤣🤣

the point I believe was to show she can bring something new to the role. Like Shelby said, they don't want another carbon copy of Barbra they want something new and fresh.

Annie Willow

That’s what she was what she ultimately was trying to do but I have a hard time believing that Rachel Barbra Berry wanted to bring Journey to Funny Girl. That’s what Will would have brought to the role not Rachel. Which that would have been a sight seeing Will as Fanny Brice.

This is definitely one of the better episodes of the season. The Harlem Shake stuff is a throwback lol, I remember when that was MASSIVE. God knows why. 😂😂 I have no idea why Mr Schue was being such a jerk. He has his faults for sure but this episode almost didn't feel like him until the end. Especially when he told Unique to stop with the woman talk, like Unique is still figuring out her gender identity and Mr Schue has always been so kind and respectful of that. So I felt that was a bad move from the writers to cause unnecessary conflict. But he fixed everything by the end of the episode and fixed things with Finn too so I can look past it. I liked all the stuff with Finn and Puck in college. Although I'm pretty sure Puck couldn't stay in the dorms if he wasn't enrolled lol. But I liked their moments together and I felt that their story fit into the other stories well. Marley's original songs were very cheesy yes, but I don't mind that. I'm 27 and I still watch Disney Channel shows and movies every day lol, so cheesy pop is right up my street. And also when this episode came out I was having a hard time at school being bullied and picked on, and I remember Marley's song You Have More Friends Than You Know really made me smile. Glee was my friend for a long time, if that makes sense. So that song in particular has a special place in my heart. And Rachel's performance of Don't Stop Believing is maybe my favourite version of that song from the show. She sings it with so much passion and heart. Originally Rachel was going to sing My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion for that audition but Lea went to the producers and said she felt that was a bit too cliché and it was her idea for Rachel to sing Don't Stop. So we have Lea to thank for that amazing moment. I also loved her performance with Shelby and her dramatic monologue at the start of the episode lol. Rachel's a diva but I love her to bits. Always have, always will. I look forward to the last two episodes of the season. They're both great imo. I can't wait to hear your thoughts. 😊

Becky has some really funny one liners throughout the show! The fact that she then went on to throw stuff like Sue does just makes that line even better to me 😂

Flo

The fact that this ended up being Corey’s/Finn’s last episode and he had that talk with Rachel (their first amicable talk since the breakup I think, but tbh this season is already kind of a blur for me) and then the throwback to Don’t Stop Believing on top of that. It’s so beautiful and perfect and painful and heartbreaking!

Quadroon... Can't get away with casual racism like that today, thankfully. It's more likely to be called out and canceled.
