Yeah, so Godric burned up real quick because of his advanced age (remember, Bill was burning for quite a while in the season 1 finale because he's quite young for a vampire). Also, in the books, Godric is just a random 2000 year old vampire, not Eric's maker. This is one of the changes the show made that I like because it gives Eric a bond with Godric and we get to see a very real, very emotional moment because of their bond.

There are some changes from the books that the show nails and that is one of them, but one that I loved from the books that didn’t cross over to the show was Bubba. 😫 lol I get why they couldn’t do it though.

I love the moment with Hoyt and his mama (and the grilled cheese). About time he stood up to her. I also love the moment with Eric and Godric. We've never seen that soft and vulnerable side of him before. Get's me in tears every time. He acts the pants off of that scene.

I love this episode. Like SeeJay said, a rare display of vulnerability from Eric here. Godric is such a great memorable character, and even with him being introduced just a few episodes ago, you can feel the strength of his bond with Eric, and the respect he shares with Sookie in those last moments is also lovely. From other tidbits loved that Lafayette was protective of Tara and staged intervention on her ass even if the scene was deeply disturbing. Also really loved Jason & Sookie talk. This season especially they basically only interacted at the very beginning, so some sibling bonding here was great.

We have known Godric for only a few episodes, but his bond with Eric fascinates me. And even after so many years, that scene on the roof between Godric and Eric always get me. He was and always will remain my favorite character in the entire show!
