you know a show is good when each new season is your "favorite season so far" 😁 also i love the are you my mummy from the doctor lol i love any time he references a story from a previous doctor because it just reminds you that he really is just the same guy

"Sontarr-ha! Sontarr-ha! Sontarr-ha!" That is quite catchy, isn't it? Rattigan is really just a child trying to find his place in the world, even if it isn't our world. He lead such a selfish life, but made the ultimate sacrifice in the end! I love the difference in how Donna is treated by her mom (I guess she's more of a mother 🤣) and her grandpa. Wilfred has complete faith in her and supports her so much, whereas her mother is always treating her like a child that can't do anything right. That ending with Martha being whisked away on an unwanted adventure is always 🤣🤣🤣

I had completely forgotten he says are you my mommy … then watching you lose it 😅😂

Great episode. I'm so glad you're loving this season, as each season passes I see you loving the show more and more. But watching the early seasons is important for many reasons, including for great jokes like the "are you my mummy" one lol. You wouldn't have got that if you'd skipped season 1 like some people do. I love the humour in this episode. My favourite moment is when Donna goes to open the door on the Sontaran ship and she's like "but you need three fingers" and The Doctor says "you have three fingers" and Donna's like "oh yeah." That always cracks me up. 😂 Donna is so sassy and fun but you also see more and more during this season that she doesn't think much of herself at all. She doesn't believe in herself and she doesn't like herself, mainly due to her horrible mother. You see that in this episode when she doesn't think she'll be able to go on to the Sontaran ship. But The Doctor sees the potential in her and encourages her which I love seeing. He really makes her better and she makes him better too. Yes that was Rose who flashed up on the TARDIS console, she was shouting "Doctor!" She pops up throughout the season in little ways like that and like she did in 4x01 as well. 👀 And the ending of the episode really was fantastic. I never ever expected Luke to sacrifice himself like that. In the end it turned out that the Sontarans used Luke's ambition and ego against him and made him think he could be some sort of God, that's why he was such a jerk. But he wasn't a bad person really. Like he couldn't shoot his students and he realized that the world needed The Doctor more than it needed him. He saw that The Doctor was more clever than him, more clever than everyone, so when The Doctor told him to "do something clever" he thought ok, the most clever thing I can do is to bring The Doctor back to Earth so he can keep saving it and if that means sacrifcing myself then so be it. And he probably wanted revenge on the Sontarans anyway. Good on Luke. 👏 And I see you're noticing how much the visual effects are continuing to improve. Money can be very useful lol. I look forward to the next episode, it's an interesting one. 😊

Fun fact, the "are you my mummy" line wasn't scripted. David actually forgot his line as he was putting on the mask so just jokingly went with that line. They thought it was hilarious and kept it in. There was reference to the Brigadier in this episode. He was a classic companion. He was the head of Unit and first appeared in 1968 and was in several stories with 5 different doctors right up until the show was originally cancelled in 1989. Another fun fact, Billie Piper's 0.5 second cameo wasn't even supposed to feature in this episode. They had it recorded for something else but when RTD saw how popular her cameo was on the 1st episode he had them quickly slot it in before airing. She ended up getting 4th billing.
