"He was an empty chair." 😭😭😭It was this episode that put Lonestar at an even level with OG 911 for me (season 4 put it over the top). Both these shows just know how to pull on your heartstrings 😭😭😭

Yeah this is a beautiful episode, and shows how amazing this show is at the relational stuff since no one was on shift and there weren't any emergencies (apart from Judd's injury - OUCH) Owen's adult brother, Robert, who he met in this episode is played by Rob Lowe's actual brother, Chad 😊 Also, how heartbreaking and beautiful that the T in TK is Tyler, after Owen's brother 😥

They have not mentioned his brother. In season 1, Owen said that he was a lifeguard for a short time and it was breathing life back into a child that made him want to become a firefighter. Probably him saving someone from the same fate as his brother really made him want to be a firefighter. The compounded trauma of him losing his brother and then losing his house during 9/11 really gave Owen survivor's guilt and his savior complex. Also another sad detail is that TK has the name of Owen's late brother which probably makes those near death experiences even more traumatic for Owen.

Yes! Chad has also directed some episodes as well.
