Ok but hear me out: I wouldn’t have done anything differently than Karen here. Dan left her when he found out she was pregnant, didn’t even come for the birth of his son, came back to town with his wife a couple months after who was also pregnant and then and only then asked for custody. Who‘s to say that he wouldn’t change his mind again or worse use it to regain full custody and raise Lucas apart from Karen? Nah, I wouldn’t have trusted him with shit either.

That’s why my mom stayed with our abusive dad until my two younger brothers and I were old enough to tell the judge in court that we never wanted to see him again so he couldn’t get custody. My dad was like Dan but worse lol. he had everybody fooled too and no one believed my mom until it happened to the next woman and the next..
