I’ve been waiting for this since you announced it! I’ve only ever seen it one time-it got pretty intense in my opinion, so I could only handle it once. But Darren Criss did an AMAZING job in this!

Intriguing first episode. They threw us right into it, huh? Starting us off with the murder itself is an interesting ploy as it makes us wonder about all the why's that are involved in the assassination. Darren Criss acted his ass off in this first episode, so I'm looking forward to more of his performance this season. It seems to me like his character might have borderline personality disorder, but I could be way off on that (I know nothing about this show, but was intrigued when I found out Darren was in it).. He constantly lies and seeks attention, shows no remorse in his actions, and even seems to revel in his actions. He could have narcissistic personality disorder instead, but I'm just speculating based on the first episode. Anyways, interesting first episode. I eagerly await the next upload of this show :)

Darren Criss’s performance was so outstanding that I had to keep reminding myself that it’s Blaine! I can’t imagine how it’ll feel for you watching this alongside Glee, Travis! A real mind fuck!

Darren truly deserved the Emmy and Golden Globe he won for this performance.

Got Patreon just for this! I absolutely love this series and especially love it when it gets to episodes 4/5. Even though Gianni Versace is in the title, the story really centers around Andrew and the multiple victims before Versace. It's cool because it starts in 1997 and works backwards to his childhood which I think is really effective. For all we know, Versace never interacted with Cunnanan, and if he did only briefly, but Cunanan makes up so many stories that it feels authentic. By the end of this show, watching Darren in interviews is just creepy because it feels like he is making up this character named "Darren Criss." From what I know there were people in real life, sapping up Versace's blood on magazines which is insane.

If I remember correctly the shot of Andrew(Darren) walking into the water and screaming was the first thing Darren shot for this show. Ryan Murphy (who was directing) told Darren what he wanted and then they filmed the scene. Darren was so good in his first take that Ryan decided to use it for the show. Ryan said he knew from that moment he made the right choice having Darren play Andrew. My favorite story from the filming of this show is that Darren would be silly doing things like prat falls and other physical comedy bits to keep things from getting too heavy between takes since this is a heavy show at times. The cast became really good friends while making the show. Ricky Martin had a mani/pedi party at his house and Darren was late. Darren threatened to climb the fence because no one was answering their phones to let him in the gate. As others have said Darren is absolutely outstanding in this show. It is so weird watching this and watching Glee at the same time. I love, love, love that little scene of Andrew watching the news report and copying the reaction of the people around him but you can see him smiling under his hand. It is just so good. It also just shows how good Darren is as an actor. Half his face is covered but you can still see the slow smile creep onto his face. It’s just so brilliant and creepy. That is actually Gianni Versace’s house. It still exists in Miami. It is a hotel now. I know for sure they used the outside of it and I’m pretty sure they were able to use parts of the inside for filming. There are pictures of the cast just hanging out at the house/hotel. I also have to say that Ryan Murphy always kills it with the music on his shows. It’s so good right from the start of this episode. The actor in the club scene is Caleb Foote. Yes, Donatella Versace is played by Penelope Cruz. You will see a lot of familiar faces in this show. The guy at the end in the bed might also look familiar. That is Max Greenfield from New Girl. Lastly the deceive that you recognized is Dascha Polanco from Orange is the New Black. I always get excited when I see a familiar face in a show. Okay very last thing, I am pretty sure at least at first Versace’s family was not happy with this show. Penelope was able to talk to Donatella and Ricky was able to talk to Antonio D’Amico (Versace’s boyfriend).
