So recently Katherine Heighl (Izzie) and Ellen (Meredith) made a Variety interview (don’t watch it to avoid spoilers lol) where Ellen admitted in early seasons they did use real animal organs for the surgeries scenes and how it was so difficult to act because of the smell. I remember back then some controversy around it, so maybe that’s why they put a warning on this episode lol. As usual, your reactions make me happy ♥️

Ah Owen. Before he joined Grey's I knew McKidd from 2 things. He was very good and so tragic in Trainspotting and then he was was very good and somewhat tragic in Rome on HBO. So I knew he could do drama well. I was surprised when his initial episodes played I would say against this type with some repeat of initial Mark self-assured and flirty introduction (Mark did his own stiches, Owen stapled his own leg, Mark tried to start Dirty Mistresses Club with Mer, Owen kissed Christina in a spur of the moment), but here we are now back to what I expect from McKidd's acting. Owen is back, but now with added heavy trauma baggage. Let's see how this Owen gels with Seattle Grace. Also my babies Mark and Callie continue to be great friends. Mark is again surprisingly mature with his assessment that Callie needs to be honest with Erica, and Callie in turn finally admits she actually likes Mark as a friend (remember a few episodes back when he was depressed, and she was whiny and dismissive when he would not have sex with her? writers course corrected here and made them true friends now and I'm here for it always because both of them need friends badly) I also loved Erica's realization and I equally loved Callie not having one. Human experience varies. And I liked this here. Onward we go, as season 5 is great (and gets us even closer to next one ;)

YES! It's a loooong show and a lot of the characters go trought so much because of the writing that in some point we end up not liking them and then fall in love with them back again. I have a lot of thoughts on Owen but it's just the "living in the after" Owen, but I still like his character in his early seasons so much. I think Travis should aprecciate that as well. I remember the first time I've watched it and how much I liked him. I think it's all part of the grey's experience.

I love the way the writers wrote Callies character so freaking much as a bi-sexual women who didn't explore it until I was an adult, it was a bit confusing at first and she is one of the only characters (that I have seen) that is an amazing representation of an adult who discovers they are bi

Ive been vegan for 8 years now and I love this episode because it shows the validity of both sides of the argument of animal testing pretty well, its given us so much but its not really necessary anymore with new technology

Yeah I've said elsewhere that catching his intro ep years later on syndication was what got me back into grey's altogether after initially quitting after s2. I was going through some really deep stuff and grey's at that time got ME back, so I have all kinds of nostalgia and love for much of s5. DVR'D the crap out of it, binged and caught up just in time for the s12 finale. 😬😬 The experience is such a part of the series and why it's so rewatchable. We all have endless opinions, but part of why we're here is because it's fun to have others share the same experience!

I love Callie, and I can definitely relate to her. Figuring out that I'm bisexual was a struggle. Especially when I had people in my life, both straight and gay, telling me that I'm confused or that I'm going through a phase.

I know a lot of people love Izzie but she annoys the living crap out of me. She’s preachy and annoying. She does not talk like a scientist. She needs to work at some hippie hospital. I know there is Doctors that are “spiritual” but ugh 😖
