Pete reminds me of a teenage Doug (from 911) if he took a potion that turned him into a literal monster. Always blaming their partners for their own misfortunes and never taking accountability for their own actions (or realizing that sometimes life just hands you a crappy one). Now, onto Angel. I can't imagine what it would be like to get tortured for hundreds (perhaps thousands) of years! I'm pretty sure the only reason he wasn't worse off, is because this was aired on TV! Imagine if this were a show released on HBO or Showtime or a streaming service/channel of that sort. The one thing I had an issue with in this episode, is how quickly Angel became Angel again, but it's a TV show, so it's all good

I’ve mentioned before that Buffy is all metaphorical. This episode is clearly a metaphor for DV and toxic masculinity. I’m so glad you’re enjoying. Also side note: if I were straight, I’d marry you. However, I make an awesome wing girl. Haha okay okay. Basically you’re awesome and I enjoy these reactions so much!

What I like about Angel coming back is that he's not just magically "back" to the show as himself, like he hadn't been in a hell dimension for who knows how long. He was clearly affected, almost animalistic at first, not unlike Oz in wolf form... and it took Angel time to regain some of his humanity, enough to finally be able to recognize Buffy and call her by name. And even at the end of the episode, he was clearly still tormented in his sleep, perhaps dreaming of the hell he'd been in. So it's clearly going to be complicated, and for now, I don't think Buffy knows what's going on or how to tell Giles and her friends that he's back. But I do like the hint they gave, within the dialogue between Giles and Buffy, when Giles ponders that it would take a person of great fortitude and inner strength to survive such a hell and come out the other side with his humanity intact... which gives us a glimpse into the heroic nature of Angel. He endured and he's back. Why he's back is still unknown, but for him to make it back is incredibly admirable. The mystery continues... ;)

Honestly, I thought this was the most depressing episode of the season so far.
