So, this came out in 2017, but takes place in 2014 (several months after the events of the first movie). And yes, baby Groot is adorable! I agree with your assessment of the movie overall. The first one is funnier, more enjoyable, has better action, and has better music than this one. I will say, I forgot how much the end of this movie hits you in the feels, though! If it wasn't for the ending, this would probably be one of my least favorite MCU movies. That ending alone pushes this movie into the mid-tier of MCU movies for me (like you, I'm a total baby when it comes to emotional scenes like that). Also, notice that Peter can now understand adolescent Groot's speech now, which gives an indication of how much time has past between the main events of the movie and that post-credit scene. And yeah, 4 post-credit scenes is a lot, lol. Spider-Man Homecoming is up next! It is not on Disney + as it's owned by Sony but still in the MCU

I don't know why I laughed so hard when yandu said I'm Mary Poppins yall. And I really loved how pretty much all of them had their tender moments at the end and omg I cried like a freaking baby during the ending

2023-05-08 14:50:45 I love this one, yes technically the first is better but I tend to watch this one more. I think Ego is the much better villain then Ronin was, he was kind of bore. I love the manipulation that Ego was doing to Peter, he clearly overheard him and Gamora talking before they went with him and that's why he started playing catch with Peter later. And when it's revealed that he was the one that killed his mother it hits hard and I love Peter's immediate reaction. I also enjoy everybody's chemistry more in this, they felt like a family, yes a family that bickers but you feel the love from them, including Rocket. And you really get to feel for Rocket, he is so scared to lose them that he pushes them away, when he stops Gamora from getting Peter you feel it, or least I do. I love the introduction to Mantis, she is so sweet and so much fun, even though he is mean to her I enjoy her friendship with Drax, it's sweet how determined he was to save her when everyone was getting squashed, he was thinking about her more then himself and that shows his true character. I love the relationship growth with Nedula and Gamora and also her relationship with Peter as well, she finally opens herself up to him by the end. And I also agree that the music is better in the first but I think they utilize the music better in this, they completely fit the scenes and aren't just put in because they are former hits, like The Chain is the perfect song for that final battle and Father & Son is absolutely perfect, here he's thinking about Yondu while listening until he looks down at Groot, you could say Peter is his father now and Peter knows he needs to fill the role for him. Baby Groot steals the movie, he is so adorable, we all wanted one after this, lol. I also love how they took a villain character like Yondu and completely turned him around but it's still not out of character, you can watch the first film and it all fits.
