I love this movie and I agree they take mental health seriously and respectfully and it helps that they don't outright name hers or Sam's diagnosis but clearly they both are dealing with their own and that's why they gravitated towards each other. I'm pretty sure that the house was suppose to catch fire after she burned the picture but decided against it, probably because they were going to have to deal with the situation on the bus and that was more important then the fire. I like that early on Benny does warn Sam about the voices in her head and to not talk to her but he clearly forgot. Yeah and I think it's pretty clear that Benny does learn that he was afraid to not have Joon to lean on, he was afraid to be on his own and that he needed her just as much as she needed him, he was able to use her to get out of relationships and stay in this bubble until Sam showed up. For me this was peak Johnny and I think this is one of his most underrated roles that no one talks about, I thought he did great along with the rest of the cast!

One of my favorite ever movies! Mary Stuart Masterson and Johnny Depp embodied their roles so beautifully. Such a great mixture of whimsy and angst and compassion. And that soundtrack was like a character in the film. How fun to watch again with your reaction, Travis! Thoroughly enjoyed that. Thanks to Stormy for sponsoring.
