Grace is easily my favorite character on this show (I'd have to say that Carlos is 2nd, not sure who my 3rd is, probably Marjan or Owen). I think that, even though she was hurt by Judd not telling her about her father at first, she went easy on him because she did essentially the same thing with her mom. As Ashley said, there is a substantially increased risk of complications for women who are 35 and older. Honestly, I'm more impressed that Gina Torres' character, Captain Vega, didn't have any complications with her kids considering the fact that she was 40 when she had them and that she's Black, which increases the risk for complications of pregnancy even more. I gotta say, this show, and OG 911, really do a great job making you feel emotional about side characters that will only be in 1, maybe 2, episodes. That father and daughter accident scene (and aftermath) really had my allergies goin'!

Lisa Edelstein (Gwyn) was 54 years old when season 2 took place. I am guessing Gwyn is the same age as the actress that plays her. Geriatric pregnancy which is now more commonly known as advanced maternal age is anyone who is 35 years or older and pregnant. I love the original 9-1-1 but this version of the show does these gut punch moments so damn well. They both know how to tug at your heart strings. I cannot remember how you said it but you have said in previous episodes this version of the show does the emergencies better or bigger. I can't even describe how they are different but they are different. The car accident scene in this episode is a perfect example. I guess maybe it is how it's paced or something. The slow reveal that the dad has a piece of rebar through his middle always gets me. They do the tear at your heart string moments so well. I don't know how they do it so well but they do. I didn't comment on the last episode but fifty shades of Grace was my favorite line from the entire episode. That whole scene is just amazing. This show has such a great balance of the dramatic gut wrenching emergencies, heart warming moments, and just plain funny comedic moments. I think that balance makes this show so good. You are laughing one moment and crying the next. it's a roller coaster every episode. Speaking of Grace I always love the calls like the pizza call where we really get to see her in action. I always have a hard time choosing favorite characters. I would say out of the female characters on this show she is my favorite and Tommy is a close second. Anyways, Grace has the best voice. It's so calm and soothing. It's so perfect for a 911 operator. The actress who plays Grace is also just super gorgeous. A bit of a tangent but there was not enough Carlos in this episode. I love the character driven storylines in this episode. Matteo is so sweet and funny. I love that he is sort of the comedic relief. I also really loved Judd and Grace's storyline. I love anytime they get a storyline. Grace is the best. This is probably controversial but Lone Star is my favorite out of the two shows. It took me time to get in to the original series. I was hooked from the very first episode of Lone Star. Next week season 4 of Lone Star starts airing. I am so excited. It was postponed a week because of another shows finale. I am so ready for some more Judd, Grace, T.K., Carlos, and well the rest of the cast of course.
