The way I see it, Lucifer is upset because it seems like yet another way his father is orchestrating things in Lucifer's life. Lucifer was banished and sent to hell, but eventually he broke free and went to Los Angeles to escape those kinds of shackles. He wanted to be his own man. But in finding out that Chloe was born because God sent Amenadiel to bless Chloe's mom, it seems like another part of Lucifer's life is being manipulated, and that's something Lucifer cannot stand. He wants to have his own life, on his own terms. And now he can't trust who Chloe is or if she truly cares about him, or if she was "made" to care about him by God. I was so mad at his mom for telling him this news. He and Chloe were finally connecting and it was so sweet, and then "Mom" has to ruin it. Thanks a lot, Mom. I do like that Maze changed her mind when she heard how happy Lucifer was and that he and Chloe were finally together. She was ready to walk out of there, dragging Lucifer with her. But I don't think she would have been able to keep Mom from spilling the beans eventually. Still, I liked that Maze was on Lucifer's side and trying to protect him.

Love Handles- Yes!!! I have been so excited for you to watch and post this episode!!! As well as the next one too!!! What happens in the end of this episode... Phenomenal and what a devastating cliffhanger!! :) Now... Love Handles is a phenomenal episode and like I've said, it is easily another one of my absolute favorite episodes within season two, as well as throughout the entire show. Along with episode thirteen too. I love everything about this episode. From Chloe's dream about making love with Lucifer after their kisses they share on the beach, to the case, the fascinating killer played by actor... Tim DeKay who is best known for the TV series... White Collar, the adorable awkwardness between Lucifer and Chloe in the aftermath of their first intimate moment together on the beach, and to seeing Lucifer finally come to believe that he and Chloe are real in spite of his fears, only for his happiness to suddenly come crashing down around him in the end thanks to his own mother. Ugh!! But it's all so, so fabulous!! :) To back up a little... First, I absolutely love Chloe's dream about Lucifer as she dreams of them making love, even after Chloe looks up at him again and sees horns on top of his head, which immediately dashes every Lucifer fangirls' hope that what's happening between Chloe and Lucifer in this moment is real, since we know Lucifer doesn't have horns like he tells Chloe he doesn't back in season one's episode... Manly Whatnots. And then... the moment she suddenly awakens, Chloe is appalled and embarrassed to see Maze sitting in the chair beside her bed eerily and eagerly watching her have a sex dream while eating popcorn. But before Maze leaves her alone again, she offers Chloe some good advice. That she should loosen up a little and throw caution to the wind. However, what Maze meant and what Chloe takes her to have meant aren't exactly the same thing, as we quickly come to see. Unfortunately for Chloe, her attempts to try to take Maze's advice only continues to backfire on her, because Lucifer has become so afraid that Chloe's kisses don't mean to her what they have meant to him, and he doesn't understand whether or not her feelings for him are truly real. All of which Lucifer then expresses to Linda in his next session with her. It's so sad that Lucifer struggles so much to understand why Chloe really kissed him. And this comes from his belief that Chloe couldn't possibly feel the same way about him that he feels about her. Love. He doesn't believe Chloe could ever love him like he loves her, which he does in spite of not understanding that he does love her. Especially after he pointed out his lesser qualities to her. Because all his life, Lucifer has been made to believe that he is evil and undeserving of anyone's love ever since he was cast out of Heaven and into Hell, then has been vilified for all eternity as well. And while Lucifer really is a good man, he sadly doesn't believe himself to be, and therefore in his mind... Chloe can't possibly really love him, or even care about him romantically because of this. Because he is the Devil. Linda tries to explain, but sadly, Lucifer is too quick to come up with any plausible reason for why Chloe claims to care about him, as he thinks maybe she's no longer immune to his charms, then he leaves Linda's office so he can join Chloe at their latest crime scene. I love the awkwardness between them once Chloe first slaps Lucifer's butt to try to get some kind of fun and excited reaction from him. She then tries a few more times to be cute, only for her to continue to fail at getting the kind of response from him she's looking for, or that she would expect from Lucifer that he's always shown her and other women until this point. So adorably awkward! And so funny. :) Next... I've never seen any of the Saw movies before, but I actually do love the overall twisted case involving Dr. Carlisle and how he forces people to make such devastating choices like what I've been told is done in these movies... whether or not to save themselves and all their hard work, or the person also being threatened would also die. And while Carlisle is creepy, sadistic, and despicable, I really enjoy him as an antagonist within an episode of this phenomenal show. He's actually one of my overall favorite minor antagonists throughout all five seasons so far. He's irrational and delusional, just as true sadists are. Someone who one hundred believes in all he's doing, but doesn't see himself doing anything wrong. People like Hitler too. I find a case dealing with pure human instincts to be very interesting. I especially love the scene between Carlisle, Chloe, and Lucifer inside the lab at the college. Unfortunately, Lucifer and Chloe can't break inside the room protecting him from being apprehended by Chloe, and stopping her and Lucifer from rescuing the two boys who are about to die at this killer's hands. Then... Once Carlisle runs out after smashing the vial to release the poison gas into the air, I love how Lucifer assures Chloe that he can save the victims, so long as she goes after the doctor. I love how he asks her if she trusts him, to which she answers that she does without a doubt. Chloe hesitates only for a moment, not because she doesn't trust in Lucifer, but because she's afraid for him, which I really love as well. It's great how Lucifer cuts three times into his wrist in order to test his vulnerability once Chloe's left the room to chase after Carlisle, and I love seeing him break through the door and enter the room now filling with poison gas, once again becoming immortal upon Chloe being at a safe distance. Meanwhile... Chloe chases after the doctor and nearly catches him at one point until he knocks her off of him with a painful punch to her side. Then... much to her surprise, Carlisle kills himself before she can arrest him, trying to prove to her that just like all of his experiments proved, he had no choice but to do as he was about to do. While I don't understand why she doesn't just shoot the doctor in the leg or in his hand to stop him from running and then killing himself, I still like the end result. And I really love the overall case, with the doctor choosing his victims whom he delusionally believes match himself and who match the Uber driver killed within the accident that ruined his entire life. In order to see if those like him would choose to save themselves and their livelihoods, or the other victims instead. Of course, he's overdramatic and sadistic, but it is what makes this killer so interesting. Sadly, yet very bravely, the second victim... another doctor, destroys her own hand in order to save the life of the teenage girl Carlisle had poisoned, while the actor couldn't cut up his own face to save the other teenager. Although... the actor was almost prepared to make the tough decision. Of course, I can't blame him for not being able to choose in time. His choice was an impossible choice to make. Plus... he didn't even believe the choice was real until he later learns that the very same kid who was threatened turns up dead. Neither this actor, nor this doctor would have been to blame no matter what choices they would have made. And I really appreciate your own insights in regards to this moral dilemma too. :) I agree with Lucifer that it isn't a good idea for anyone to give into this killer's demands, given that he will only continue to justify or rationalize their decisions so he can continue on with his killing spree, and therefore will go after more and more people in order to try to prove his point no matter what decisions are made, on account of this doctor undoubtedly having come to gain a taste for hurting people deep down, in spite of his excuses for doing them to begin with. However, I understand why the second victim chooses to destroy her hand in spite of Dan trying to stop her. She just wanted to save the girl's life and saw she had no other choice. And I applaud her for being so brave to do so. I also understand Chloe's reasonings too, given that she admires the doctor for being so brave to try to save this innocent girl. And Lucifer and Chloe definitely have to work together and in sync if they have any hope of stopping this psycho. I love the scenes between Chloe and Lucifer outside of the fraternity house when Lucifer sincerely, and lovingly tells Chloe she's beautiful when she asks him how she looks upon trying to make herself look more like a college student and not so much like a cop, as well as when they're inside one of the rooms upstairs as Chloe catches Lucifer talking to a group of girls about her and whether or not she could be truly falling for him as he has for her, after these girls help him track down the girl who had been poisoned. So cute. And thankfully, they are able to save the girl in time too. My absolute favorite moments... One... I absolutely love, love, love the ending between Lucifer and Chloe once again, when Chloe returns to Lucifer after Carlisle kills himself, as Chloe is worried about Lucifer knowing that he had risked his life to save the two kidnapped boys from being killed. I just love the fear in her eyes for Lucifer, then seeing her immediate relief and happiness upon seeing him alive and well, as she immediately hugs him and smiles up at him with tears in her eyes. I love, love, love how gentle Lucifer is with her as he embraces her, and then how he asks, "This... is real. Isn't it?", to which Chloe simply nods and they continue to hold one another. So beautiful!! And yes... their love for each other is very real in spite of Charlotte's and God's supposed manipulations of his son. I can't imagine that God has taken away Chloe's free will to choose to love the man she's falling in love with. I've absolutely no doubt about this whatsoever. Sadly, I can also understand why Lucifer struggles so deeply with understanding so himself, as I've spoken of above. :) And the second of my favorite moments comes in the very ending, when Lucifer becomes absolutely devastated upon discovering the picture of Amenadiel with Penelope, whom Lucifer recognizes because he knows her from all of her cheesy movies she's starred in from her younger years through now. Then, he is cruelly told by his mother that Chloe was put in his path by his father, heartbreakingly making him come to believe that Chloe's love for him that he is longing for her to truly feel, isn't real. Because he fears and is hurt more than ever because he believes that Chloe is being forced to love him. The pain in Lucifer's eyes is absolutely heartbreaking and just devastating. You can deeply feel his heart just shatter into pieces, as he struggles to breathe while remembering all of the beautiful moments he and Chloe have shared together since they've met while his mind is struggling to cope with the revelation. While Charlotte might have acted gentle as she reveals this to Lucifer, you can see a hint of glee behind her eyes as she does so and especially upon her seeing his reaction to her revelation. And that's what makes her act so cruel. She actively set out to crush him and the Goddess has gotten exactly what she wanted. And what's worse... is that the Goddess doesn't believe she's doing anything wrong, because she claims she's doing all this for her son, when it's all being done for her own self interest. Charlotte of course expects Lucifer to become that much angrier with God for coming to believe he and Chloe have both been manipulated into feeling these emotions and feelings for one another because of him and that she's being manipulated to feel these feelings and emotions for him too. But more than this... Charlotte has broken Lucifer's heart just as she's set out to do, which makes her own manipulations that much worse. The look of pure rage in Lucifer's eyes when he then suddenly storms into Chloe's home to confront Chloe, asking her if she's known she is all a part of his father's plans for him and if she too has been manipulating him all along... only for his rage to immediately turn into nothing but fear for her upon him then seeing Chloe has been poisoned... absolutely incredible! I absolutely love, love, love seeing the pure emotions Tom Ellis is so brilliant at showing us throughout this episode!!! I absolutely believe that the feelings and love blooming between Lucifer and Chloe are all real. You can just feel it, and see the love they feel for one another in their eyes. But sadly, I can completely understand Lucifer's inability to understand this. After all... he is the Devil, known throughout the world to be all evil and some terrifying monster responsible for everyone's sins upon him having been vilified for being such a monster. And while Lucifer knows Chloe doesn't believe him to be the Devil, she does know how irrational, irritating, and even dark he can be. Lucifer confesses to her on the beach that he is unworthy of her and of course he believes this, otherwise he wouldn't have said so. And he's deeply afraid Chloe won't ever be able to accept the real him if he were to show her his Devil face, as was established back in the episode... Homewrecker. So, for Lucifer to finally come to believe that Chloe really could potentially love him, only for his world to become shattered with his mother's revelation about Chloe being a miracle sent in his path from his father, whom he has hated for eons... So heartbreaking. Maybe God wanted to send Lucifer a gift by bringing Chloe into his life, but maybe He wants to use Chloe to destroy His son, given that Chloe makes him vulnerable. This is undoubtedly a bit of what Lucifer is most likely thinking as well. And as we know, this is exactly what Charlotte wants. For Lucifer to become even angrier at his father and to side with her. Hence all of her cruel manipulations. And this makes me hate her all the more. She's an amazing character whom I love, but I also hate her for being able to so easily crush her own son's heart, and with such pleasure too. I love Charlotte as a character and as a phenomenal antagonist, but she is a character I love to hate because, man... I really hate her in this moment. So, so cruel. I can't believe she has been encouraging Lucifer to allow himself to fall for Chloe and to get close to her, only to rip it all away from him in order to hurt him so that he will come to choose to move back to Heaven with her and his brother. Agh! I want to slap her so hard!! And lastly... I truly appreciate Maze that much more in this end scene too, for trying to protect Lucifer from finding out because she doesn't want to hurt him upon seeing him so genuinely happy. Sadly, she couldn't protect him. The Goddess had to insist on breaking her son's heart, and I hate her for it. However, at least Maze does care about him. She has definitely come a long way. And I feel that season two is easily the best season for her character. What a phenomenal episode!!! Thank you so, so much once again for your reaction, Travis!! You'll find out more about the Lucifer and Chloe stuff more as the show unfolds. And yeah, poor Lucifer can't catch a break with everything going on in his life! Next episode is pretty awesome if I remember correctly!
