Home For Christmas by, Amy Grant- Thank you very much for listening and reacting to this Christmas album by Amy Grant for me, Travis! I love her Christmas album so much! It's always been one of my favorite Christmas albums to listen to many times every year at Christmas time. And Amy Grant has been one of my all time favorite artists ever since I can remember. I grew up listening to all of her music, and especially this Christmas album. Her voice is beautiful, and this album is beautiful. Amy Grant may not stand out among powerhouse female musical artists like Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carrey, etc... However, she doesn't try to be like them. She has never tried to sing like them, or to stand out above them. She sings for herself, her fans, and as a Christian, she sings for God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Amy Grant and her husband, Vince Gill, are very religious. And I admire her for standing out from them by just being herself. Not to put these other female artists down in the slightest, because I absolutely love Celine Dion, as well as Whitney Houston, Kelly Clarkson, and many others too. I just admire Amy Grant for not trying to push her voice above her range like so many of today's artists do. In answer to your questions regarding which songs on this album were original and written by Amy Grant... She wrote Beath of Heaven (Mary's Song), Grown Up Christmas List, and Emmanuel, God With Us. The rest of the songs on this album are her own renditions of classic beloved Christmas songs and hymns she loves. My favorite songs on this album are Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song), Grown Up Christmas List, The Night Before Christmas, and Emmanuel God With Us, as well as the beautiful instrumental music at the end of the album... Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. I especially love Breath of Heaven. So, so beautiful and powerful! Emotional too. Through this song, you can really feel Mary's emotions while she's carrying God's son, Jesus. And I love it! I'm very lucky and grateful to have had the privilege to be able to see Amy Grant in concert, as she performed in one of her Christmas tours many years ago, along with one of hers and her husband's closest friends in the musical world... Michael W. Smith, who is also a wonderful music artist. Thank you once again for reacting to one of my absolute favorite Christmas albums, Travis! I really and truly appreciate it, just as I truly appreciate you for all you do for us here on your channel. And for your friendship upon me becoming one of your loyal supporters.
