With Jeremy it's the amount of times you die with the ring on. So as long as he isn't dying more times while wearing the ring (which while having a normal life he wouldn't) then he isn't in danger of losing his mind.

😁😁😁 I mean they definitely don't want you to forget that Jeremy is a character. And unlike you who had a prompting that Jeremy had a ring, the audience needs a reminder that Jeremy still has a ring after that creepy letter Alaric writes for him.
