So, as far as I know, Oliver didn’t hurt his leg or anything, they just decided to hurt buck for the plot. Also, I know you were saying that you didn’t realize that season 2 only had 18 episodes, I read about why that might be yesterday. There’s a couple theories; Ryan Guzman’s (Eddie) contract is only for 16 episodes a season, so I guess they don’t want to exclude him from 6 episodes a year. But the other reason is because the show is so expensive to make; all the emergencies plus the amazing cast they have. The main stars that make up the FireFam + Athena want the chance to do other projects while continuing 9-1-1. With only 18 episodes a season, they can have more time for that during their breaks. The only season to not have 18 episodes (besides season 1) is season 4; because of Covid it only has 14 episodes.
