White Christmas- Thank you very much for your wonderful reaction for one of my all time favorite Christmas movies, Travis!! I love White Christmas, and I am so happy you really loved it too. And I really enjoyed watching your reaction for this fabulous movie as well. This movie is definitely a very different kind of Christmas movie, because it doesn't just focus so much on just Christmas, but also on the relationships between the four main characters, as well as on the friendships between them and the General and his family. And it's all so beautiful. :) I grew up watching this movie every Christmas, and I still do so every year. Sometimes, even more than once. I love its story and the messages of love, Christmas, and most of all... of showing gratitude for all those who have made a deep impact in your life and who mean so much to you. Also... I absolutely love all these characters, including Major General Tom Waverly, Emma Allen, Susan Waverly, and of course this film's four main characters as well. The four main actors within this beautiful film... Bing Crosby (Bob Wallace), Danny Kay (Phil Davis), Rosemary Clooney (Betty Haynes), and Vera Ellen (Judy Haynes) are sensational! Bing and Rosemary are the singers, while Danny and Vera are the dancers. And they're sensational together!! And since you said you recognized the actress who plays Emma, the inn's housekeeper... She is played by Mary Wicks, who is probably most famous for playing the crotchety old nun who used to be the chorister before Whoopi takes over for her in the Sister Act movies with Whoopi Goldberg. And she's absolutely brilliant. She's also in a number of other classics such as The Music Man, Disney's... The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Little Women from 1994. :) As for the music throughout this movie... I absolutely love every song sung and performed throughout this movie. The Choreography dance number performed by Danny Kay, Vera Ellen, and the other dancers may a bit strange for some people, However, for me... It's still a lot of fun nonetheless. And it's true just how far dance has come within the theater, from back then to nowadays. I just can't help but sing along with every song, every time I watch White Christmas. However, the songs that stand out the most for me within this musical are... White Christmas sung by sensational crooner... Bing Crosby, Snow sung by all four main actors on the train, We'll Follow the Old Man sung by Bing Crosby, Danny Kay, and the soldiers under Waverly's command, Count Your Blessings sung by Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney, I'd Rather See a Minstrel Show/Mandy sung by the whole cast, and the dance performed by Danny Kay and Vera Ellen in Best Things Happen While You're Dancing. All these songs are beautiful, emotional, and just a lot of fun. It's impossible to say which one is my absolute favorite. I think that the love story between Bob Wallace and Betty Haynes is absolutely beautiful, and I love seeing them fall in love throughout the film. Especially when they come together again in the end once Betty sees that Bob only wanted to show General Waverly how much he has meant to all those who served under him. It is frustrating that Betty refuses to talk with Bob, which causes far more trouble than is necessary. But it's how we as humans are. We all suffer from lack of communication in some form or another. I still really love their romance in spite of the frustrations we all feel throughout this time within the movie. And this brings me to my favorite storyline throughout this film... As Bob and Phil put together an entire show in order to show the General how much he means to them, and to show him he hasn't been forgotten by any of the men he led while in the Army. This movie's ending makes me cry every time, because we see the emotion in General Waverly's face the moment he enters the room and finds all of the men under his command there, and that his inn is completely full with the men and their families. He most definitely won't be losing the inn any longer. This story is absolutely beautiful. I love, love, love this Christmas classic so much! And the costumes are all absolutely gorgeous!!! I love them all so much!! I especially love the sparkling red suits and gowns that our main four characters wear in the ending for the big White Christmas number. Especially the ladies' gowns. Absolutely beautiful!!! Oh, and fun fact... Actress, Rosemary Clooney who plays Betty, is George Clooney's aunt. Thank you so much again for your beautiful reaction, my dear friend! I really enjoyed watching this musical again with you, and I look forward to so much more from you to come! Sincerely, Heidi

Thank you for this one Travis. Along with 'It's a Wonderful Life' my all time favourites for that warm Christmas feeling that life shouldn't be about material things or celebrity nonense. but more about kindness and touching the lives of others with understanding, goodness and love. I think it is easy in the modern world to forget that.

I’ve grown up watching this movie because it is my mom’s favorite Christmas movie, watching it together is a tradition we still have today so for me it doesn’t feel like Christmas until we watch it.

Hey, Heidi, glad you got Travis on the "White Christmas" bandwagon finally. I would have enjoyed it more but got something in my eye halfway through. (nudge, nudge).
