I love Burt! I wish all dads were like him. I always love hearing Santana/Naya sing, so that was nice to hear, as brief as it was (I know you've reacted to her singing on your YouTube channel so I know you enjoy her singing, too). I'm really glad you're getting to see the actual story behind the Glee performances you've reacted to in the past. I always find it interesting how similar (and yet so different) that Shelby and Rachel are. It just goes to show you that the nature vs. nurture debate isn't really a debate. It's a dance and a relationship. Looking at those two, nature shows us that they're both incredibly talented singers and performers and that they're very dramatic personalities. But we also see that Rachel has been nurtured by her two dads, but she still longs for that motherly figure in her life (see how quick she was to call Shelby "mom" but Shelby never called Rachel her daughter, well, at least, not to her personally). This episode had a lot of hard-hitting family dynamics in it (which, again, shows how much I've forgotten about this show) and I love that they weren't afraid to go there

Naya Rivera singing Bad Romance sends me into orbit Every. Single. Time. That growl! OMG! You have to listen to the full version because she sings in French. It’s just… ethereal. Burt Hummel is just exceptional and he continues to show it time and time again. No question that Idina and Lea sound spectacular together but that song choice and arrangement was uh…interesting. Some BTS, Jenna had to hold her breath during some of the scene because her plastic bubbles were too loud while she was breathing for the other to be heard. Chris’ shoes were customized by the costume department from a pair of 10 inch heels from a drag shop. Kevin tried on Naya’s costume and absolutely loved it and at the time he was only out to Jenna so there were a few questions raised by the other cast members. This episode was so expensive and over budget that they had to swap the running order with Funk so that this one aired right after American Idol to get the best shot at a huge audience. Heather’s lobster head dress took 45 minutes to get in and out of every time and it gave her huge migraines, they modified it for tour thankfully.

Another amazing episode and the popularity of Glee is really starting to amp up and it's starting to show in their production value as well as how deep they're getting into these storylines. I am so glad that Burt was such a well-established parent and stabilizing force in terms of characters. Glee didn't always stay consistent with its characterization, but Burt was one of the few that was always steady, and of all the TV dads I've seen, he's at the top of my list. This is really where we get to start to see Naya shine and I love that it was with this song where she was heavily featured. I agree that if you do a full reaction to Bad Romance you should hear the full studio version as they edited out so much, especially Naya singing another verse and her singing in French. i really love how mr schue cares for these kids! i'm sorry, i know it's trendy to hate on him but you can clearly see he cares about all of them! what he did for Tina or Rachel this ep was so good! and yeah maybe he has favorites, although i could debate on this for hours, and sometimes he's maybe to involved in those kids lives, but he always cares about them first and is actually the only adults treating them right in this school! (sue is an aboslute monster and bully, and emma is nice but she's not the best qualified for her job and the others adults we've seen are bad too..)

about the Finn/Kurt thing, i don't know much about that word and how bad it is, first of all bc english is not my first language and also bc i'm not gay, but i'll talk about what i know : yes Finn is different that the other guys at school, he proved it a bunch of times and yes Kurt did flirt with him. He did it a few times btw, and we've all seen it. And although it's cute to have a crush, let's not forget he made their parents meet just to be closer to him so Finn being insecure about sharing a room with Kurt is totally acceptable! now about Finn's behavior, as i said i don't know much about that insult, but he shouldn't use that! but it showed how even "good guys" like Finn are not educated on those subject and have some homophobia in them even tho they don't express it i a bullying or agressive way. i'm not saying Finn is homophobic, but as a straight man, he grew up in an homophobic world and has some tendencies bc of it. anyway, i liked how it came down in the end and i'm glad that "Kurt has feelings for Finn" storyline is over! and once again, the winner out of that situation is Burt bc he's once again getting the best dad award lol
