Ahh so nice to see a fresh reaction to this film. Yes it was incredibly impressive for it's time. Although at certain points you can see the transition from a live actor to CG model. The most clear example is during the broom class scene when Neville gets caught on the statue and falls. Sad to know that a good number of the actors in this film have died, the most recent being Robbie Coltrane who played Hagrid. Other actors who have passed on are John Hurt (Olivander) the other is the actor who played Dumbledore for the first two films. Snapes actor died as well. Snape was even meaner in the books but the movies made him a bit more of a complex villain. Love Ron's moment to save the day at the end with Wizards Chess. Tom Felton who played Malfoy is actually the nicest guy and became an author to, He said quite often that kids would see him and run away.

What's so sad about the mirror of erastad scene as well is that it's the first proper time for harry to see what his parents looked like.. he knew who they were partially but not what they looked like

I don't know if you're a reader, but the books are really great. I know you're almost at the end, but the books are so crammed full of stuff, that sometimes they'll put something in the movie and not explain it. I always make the mistake of commenting before I've watched the whole video. But in the book, the Dursleys are WAY meaner to Harry than in the movie. At first, they weren't going to take him at all. Their babysitter cancelled so they were going to take Harry to the zoo and leave him in the car. And yes, they would deprive Harry of food regularly. Oh there are also things in the movies that I wish were in the books. The glass reappearing isn't in the books and it was comedy gold in the movie. Fun fact... Alan Rickman stole a bunch of those paper letters and sold them on ebay. Warwick Davis also said that during the scenes at the banquet, when they were at the faculty table, Rickman wasn't listening to anyone. He had his earbuds in, listening to his iPod. Davis said he always wondered what Alan Rickman playing Professor Snape would listen to and regretted never asking him. Rickman's acting of Snape is masterful. I really wish Richard Harris could've completed all of the movies. I... disliked... his replacement. None of the gentle grandfatherly demeanor Harris had. Dunno if you'd like the show, but Maggie Smith's in Downton Abbey too and she's brilliant in that show too. So much sass and dry wit. I always felt that defeating a mountain troll was worth more than a measly 5 points each. Oh if you want to see something both hilarious and weird? Do a YouTube search for Daniel Radcliffe and coming around the mountain. Sorry, not sorry.
