It was a while with Desmond for sure but I love his character and how it all connects. He crashed their freaking plane. That revelation killed me the first time I saw it. Also the parallels of Desmond turning on the light to save John’s faith and John banging on the hatch the night Desmond was going to unalive himself. Seeing that “Henry” is basically the leader also was crazy. They said Michael needs to follow that bearing exactly is a call back to Desmond getting brought back because he didn’t go the right way. I believe Hurley was only brought to send back a message because he would be the slowest to get back to camp and also people would believe him when he tells how serious it is. I really hope we can get some involved for season 3 because it might be my favorite. Glad you enjoyed this

The revelation that Desmond accidentally killed his "partner", unintentionally caused the plane crash and was gonna kill himself before he heard John pounding on the hatch (and yes, John was talking about Boone, R.I.P.), along with "Henry" basically being the leader of the Others and not knowing the fate of John & Mr. Eko was so good! But I get what you're saying about how it didn't hit you as hard as the S1 finale. I love Desmond though and he became one of my favourite characters from the first time we saw him so I was happy to see more of him. And I watched this when it first aired so there was about a 7 month difference between E3 when we last saw him, to the two part finale. Fun facts: The crew started writing the 2-part finale 4 weeks prior to its airing. It was shot in 17 days. Originally, the ending scene was completely different. It took place in the office of her father's company with a researcher receiving a call who then burst into a board meeting and telling Penny that "they found it". However, for unknown reasons, the producers decided not to change it, mainly the location, and it had to be shot just 5 days before airing. The date that the plane crashed is September 22nd 2004, the airdate of the pilot. The numbers: The system failure which caused the plane to crash occurred at 4:16. Goof: When Alex grabs Kate to pull her up at the end, the actress accidentally put her hands on her breasts, before pulling them away 😂
