This is my first time seeing this also. I am surprised how much I like it. The story is way more complex than I expected.

Imani Lee

I don't think it's a conflict of interest for Laurel and her dad. On the show Blue Bloods the daughter is a District Attorney while her father is the police commissioner, her one brother is a detective, and her other brother is also a cop. So as long as everyone is doing their jobs by the book and remaining impartial it should be okay. Plus Laurel is only going after people civilly she isn't going after them for criminal charges. The police typically don't like when vigilantes get involved for a few reasons. Vigilantes have no problem breaking the law to obtain justice and that goes against what most cops and DAs believe. Now the confession that Oliver got out of Martin Somers could be thrown out if his lawyers argue that he was under duress when he confessed which technically would be true since Oliver had him strung up to a wall. He could easily say "I only said those things to keep that maniac from killing me." The same thing happens when cops obtain evidence without the proper warrants or probable cause. Whatever evidence gets collected illegally will get thrown out. Another reason, it might encourage more people that aren't as well trained as Oliver to try to take the law in their own hands as well. Which could cause those people to get hurt or die.
