The running time on this story is a cool 1 hour 45 minutes, so it's not such a great candidate for a lunchtime jog...

FREE DEEP THOUGHT: I don't know about you, but I woke up today thinking that this 24-hour period represents each year's most dramatic and mandatory mindset shift. One minute it's October 31 and everything's about the innocent fun of Halloween (buying candy, bobbing for apples, sacrificing my high school bully to the dark lobster god Oon-Thrah) .... and then at dawn, we've been thrust into November and our minds must immediately get on the winter holiday train and the planning for Thanksgiving and beyond. If you're like me and feel we need a national day of buffer and loafing on November 1 when no one has to work (but everything fun is still open, with free movies and pie), now would be the ideal time to open your window and yell out into the street like a crazy person so our elected officials get the message.

I said, Now!

(Artist's depiction of the dark lobster god Oon-Thrah. Yeah, yeah, I know, he may not look like much, but just watch what happens when you hide his favorite straw hat.)

Meanwhile, around the webnet:

In October's radio drama on Campfire Radio Theater, I keep an eye out for werewolves as a sergeant during the Civil War: https://campfireradiotheater.podbean.com/p/episodes-1605484962/

Nichole Hamilton's narration of the Knifepoint Horror story trail is now on Light & Shadow: A Horror Podcast: https://www.lightandshadowpod.com/podcast/halloween-party-2

Andrew Tate has been having me back occasionally to narrate creepypastas for Let's Not Meet, and he'll eventually be posting the recording of his most recent Halloween livestream in which I read a story about a rather strange incident in a cornfield. Past narrations for Andrew's show are here: https://letsnotmeetpodcast.com/

I feel like there’s a story idea here about waking up on the 32nd of October.
