Hope you enjoy this bit of grunge cinema. The audio version for the podcast will follow this weekend; by all means let me know which differences between the two versions you find effective or ineffective, and why....

Drop-Ins

What do you do in spring 2020 when there's a lockdown going on and there are no actors or crew available to indulge your filmmaking urges? You go ahead and make your movie anyway with whatever you have on hand. In this horror short, a man receives several unwelcome and frightening visits in the middle of the night. I can't tell which format I like better. Whichever I'm watching or listening to at the time. I really love this plotless plot. Thanks for telling it twice, and so differently each time. You asked us to tell you which format we liked best, and why. I'd love it if you set the entire audio narrative in film. I do like the dreaminess of the film. But I think that the strangeness would still work with the entire narrative. You don't have to film every part. Some could be stills of the apartment or backyard. I loved the film, but even though the dreaminess was cool, I like to have a beginning, middle, and end. The lack was no doubt intentional. And some may prefer the ambiguity. It's a personal choice. I still love the film as it is and the darkness and graininess is cool. I also love the audio. Your reading is so emphatic, and so realistic. I can imagine you thinking about the story, step by step, or telling it to a trusted friend. I know it might have been intentional, but your death was almost comical. Fatal heart attacks usually result in the person literally dropping dead. Again, this might have been intentional, but it suspended my suspension of disbelief.. if you're looking for drama you could knock over a chair or whatever. In any case. I loved both film and audio just as they are. Ambitious, but it worked great, film and story. Thanks for adding some quality to my shelter at home.

So I just watched this and it stood the test of time. Three whole months! I still really liked it and you captured all the important parts. The cinematography and acting were still great. I loved the stairs. It's one of my favorite episodes.
