It's been a bit since I drew Ashley, and I figured it'd be nice to give her some pleasant time to herself back in Hawaii. She deserves a treat! Plus, getting to be on your own can let you be a little bit more of yourself. At least, that's how I think of it, anyway.

As far as this drawing goes, I'm remembering you can do a LOT with just a LITTLE, especially when it comes to backgrounds. It doesn't take a lot to do a compelling background when you want the viewers to focus on the foreground. Just enough detail to give you the mood and the idea of what's there will help a drawing come alive.
